Clemson Football: 5 Reasons Trevor Lawrence can win the Heisman as a freshman

The Heisman, especially in recent years, has been given to the “best player on the best team.” At least in some cases.

If Trevor Lawrence were to win the Heisman as a freshman, it would be because he is a Clemson football player.

That Tiger brand makes a difference. The fact that Clemson will be a top-two team all season playing premiere games week-in-and-week-out makes a difference.

Just being a quarterback on a College Football Playoff contending team basically makes you a Heisman contender.

If Trevor Lawrence were on another mid-tier team, he wouldn’t even be considered as a freshman. But, being a part of Clemson really helps him and his Heisman odds.
