2011: ACC Championship win over Virginia Tech

To this point on the list, we haven’t included one ACC Championship game.

The Tigers have won four ACC Championships under Swinney and they all should be considered on this list. I think we’ve somewhat discounted winning the conference because of the fact that the Tigers have done it back-to-back-to-back seasons.

Well, there was a time where Clemson didn’t win the ACC title every single year.

In 2011, Tajh Boyd led the Clemson Tigers to their first ACC Championship since 1991. The Tigers upset a very good Virginia Tech team and did it in dominant fashion.

While we may not appreciate conference titles like we should, you can’t argue the importance of this win.

The ACC title helped the Tigers take the next step forward in building the program. It was a huge victory and, at the time, because one of the biggest in more than a decade for Clemson.
