2015: Home win over Notre Dame

While this game may not seem like it was all that important on the surface looking back from Clemson fans, it certainly was.

The narrative coming into that October game was that Notre Dame could be a College Football Playoff contender. If the Tigers had lost that night, I’m not sure we even see Clemson make a run to the College Football Playoff.

Instead, in a typhoon nonetheless, the Tigers defeated a very good Notre Dame team on a two-point conversion goal-line stand.

Clemson was ranked just No. 12 in the nation at the time, but the win cemented them as a top-10 team that eventually became a College Football Playoff team. This win was what started it all in the 2015 season.
