2012: Chick-fil-A Bowl victory over LSU

You can argue whatever you want, but to me, I believe the 2012 win over LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl was the turning point for Clemson football.

The Tigers had just lost to South Carolina.

It seemed that there were doubts across Clemson nation and every national pundit was picking the “SEC physicality” to be too much for the “speedy” Tigers.

Well, that night, Clemson matched up with that LSU front as well as anyone all night.

The Tigers made an improbable comeback behind one of the most memorable plays in the program’s history.

This is where the journey began, my friends.

That night something changed for Clemson football. All of a sudden, the Tigers were more than just ACC powers, they were national contenders that could compete with any team in the country.
