4. Travis Etienne

Travis Etienne was named the starter heading into the summer.

He wasn’t listed as the co-starter, but the starter. I think that tells us a lot on how the running backs will operate this season.

It looks as if Etienne will get the majority of the carries and then Tavien Feaster and Adam Choice will supplement in behind him. For Etienne to compete for a Heisman Trophy, though, he’s going to have to have a special season.

I’m talking 2,000-plus yards and double-digit touchdowns. If he could split time with those other guys and still have one of the nation’s top YPC totals, I think he’d have a chance. Etienne is extremely explosive and it’s only a matter of time before a running back wins the award. Who’s to say it couldn’t be Etienne creeping into the race with a couple of those other talented running backs from around the nation?
