It was announced Thursday that Clemson football would play Texas A&M at 7 p.m. on the road. The September matchup will provide an early test for the Tigers.

After playing Furman at home to open the season, Clemson football will travel down to College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies.

It was announced on Thursday that the Tigers and Aggies will square off at 7 p.m. on ESPN.

While it’s not a surprising announcement, it is one that is worth note. The Tigers will be a heavy favorite on the road in this game. While it may be considered a win for Clemson, this game will certainly challenge the Tigers early.

A Hostile Environment..

Texas A&M is one of the toughest places to play in the country. So, with a loud crowd and some uncertainty on the offensive side of the ball, Clemson may have a little trouble at the start of this one.

Kelly Bryant will be playing in the most hostile environment of his career (except for maybe the Sugar Bowl) and that’s not even considering if Trevor Lawrence plays.

When I look at this game early, I think the Tigers’ defense will have to carry them at least for a little while. The bright side of this, though, is the fact that Texas A&M is just not the team that they once were.

Clemson just out-talents the Aggies at basically every single position. So, I believe that we may see a close game for a quarter or a half, but I think the overall talent of the depth chart will start to show as the game continues.

Whoever is at quarterback will settle into the game fairly quickly and begin to lead the offense. I just think it could take a couple of drives. In the end, though, Clemson’s talent should show and that should lead to a Tiger win, at least by 10 points.
