Clemson Football Recruiting: DT Target to announce decision
Clemson football 2019 defensive tackle prospect Tayquon Johnson will announced when he will verbally commit to a school. The Tigers seem to be the favorite.
The 2019 Clemson football recruiting class could add another prospect before it’s all said and done on Monday.
3-star defensive tackle Tayquon Johnson announced that he will be making his decision at noon Monday.
Johnson is a 6-3, 295 pound defensive tackle out of Williamsport, Maryland. The Maryland product is one of the top players out of the state and is certainly a diamond in the rough for whatever team wins his services.
Analysis:
Johnson has grown into quite a player out of Maryland. As a freshman, he weighed in at about 270 and has since grown to 295.
He is extremely strong with great athleticism and has great potential at the next level.
Here’s all you need to know about Johnson: Clemson, Alabama, and Georgia have all offered him. I don’t care what star ratings say, if you garner offers from all three of those schools this early, it’s clear that you’re a solid priority for each team.
The Crimson Tide just offered Johnson on May 9 and I believe that may be a draw for the prospect as he is making his decision.
It will be interesting to see what he decides and which school wins his services, but know that Johnson will be a steal wherever he goes. He reminds me of a Grady Jarrett-type with a little more size and upside.

Overall, though, it seems that Clemson football has the upper hand on Johnson right now. From what all analysts close to the situation say and from what I’ve seen, I think there’s a great chance that he commits to the Tigers tomorrow.
