Clemson football will release a post-spring depth chart in the next couple of months. Here’s our prediction for the quarterback position.

The 2018 Clemson football “spring season” has come to an end.

We saw the spring game and came away with several different takeaways. In the next couple of months, the coaching staff will release a “post-spring” or “summer” depth chart.

Basically, this will be a way to let the fans know where players stand heading into summer workouts.

The coaches are also finishing up exit interviews for the spring, which let the players know where they stand and what they need to work on heading into the summer.

For the next couple of weeks, Rubbing the Rock will predict the post-spring depth chart for each position. Today, we will start with the quarterbacks.

Clemson Football Post-Spring Quarterback Depth Chart Prediction:

Starter: Kelly Bryant

–Hunter Johnson or

–Trevor Lawrence

–Chase Brice

Analysis:

I know this is probably not what most want to see, but I think it’s the most logical way that the quarterbacks will stand.

Kelly Bryant will remain etched in as the starter and I believe you will see an “or” situation with Hunter Johnson and Trevor Lawrence. Johnson will still be listed above Lawrence, though, because of seniority.

The coaches want to push all three of the quarterbacks to work hard in the summer. That means establishing confidence in Kelly Bryant that he is still the starter. That means letting Hunter Johnson know that he’s not forgotten (hence putting him second). And that means keeping Trevor Lawrence hungry by looking up at the other two guys.

If you ask me who I think the most talented quarterback is, I think it’s a no-brainer. Trevor Lawrence, in my opinion, is leaps and bounds ahead of all of the other three guys.

It will be interesting to see how this quarterback competition progresses as we get into the fall, but this is the order I think we will see when the post-spring depth chart is released.
