The 2019 Clemson football recruiting cycle is really starting to heat up. The Tigers are in the top group for one of the nation’s top defensive backs.

The 2019 Clemson football recruiting class will be one of the biggest in recent history.

The Tigers will look to take upwards of 20 and it seems that things are really starting to heat up. Over the past couple of weeks, Clemson football has picked up commitments from several top-priority prospects.

Another talented defensive back, 4-star Cam’Ron Kelly, announced his top group of schools on Tuesday night via Twitter.

Clemson joined a group of nine schools, which included Penn State, Notre Dame, Auburn, Washington State, Virginia, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.

Analysis:

Kelly is very talented prospect with an NFL-caliber ceiling. Wherever he decides to go to school, I think he will have a chance to be a starter before it’s all said and done.

He’s a highly sought after prospect and that’s for good reason.

Kelly does a great job in coverage and provides solid physicality. Kelly attended Clemson football’s junior day back in January. Since then, he has used three of his official visits to go to Penn State, Oklahoma, and Washington State.

I’d assume that Kelly will take an official visit to Clemson in the fall if he is serious about wanting to come to Tiger Town and then will use the final one at one of the other schools on the list.

Right now, Kelly is a heavy trend to Penn State. As a matter of fact, according to 247 sports, he has a 100 percent chance to be spending his next three to four years in Happy Valley.

I would tend to agree with those assessments, as well. Kelly would be a nice get, but I just don’t see him putting on the orange and purple when it’s all said and done.
