The Graveyard has been a Clemson football tradition for quite some time. Many want to change it given recent success, but it should never change.

Clemson football added five more tombstones to the ceremonial graveyard this past week from the 2017 season.

While most Tiger fans were happy to see the tombstones go up, there were a few “Debbie downers.”

Many fans from other teams around the nation don’t quite understand the tradition. Teams from “snobby” schools say: “You should act like you’ve been there before.”

And for some reason, some Tiger fans start to buy into that line of thinking.

The fun is the winning…

Let’s have a little fun, Clemson football fans. Stop being so serious all the time.

The Tigers should celebrate wins every single way that they can. The graveyard is a fun way to do that.

Clemson defeated No. 12 Virginia Tech, No. 14 Louisville, No. 20 NC State and No. 24 South Carolina in 2017 on the road.

Those wins should be celebrated.

I think, for whatever reason, Clemson football fans have gotten a little spoiled. We’re so used to winning now, we forget what it was like to be on the other end of things.

Now, we’re used to winning 10, 11, 12 games a year. The 8-4, 7-5, and 6-6 seasons seem to be a thing of the distant past and that’s a testament to what Dabo Swinney has done with this program.

But we should never forget where we came from and understand that everything can change in the blink of an eye.

As Swinney says “The Best is Yet to Come” and that includes adding more tombstones. Dabo said they may have to add an “upper deck” to the graveyard and I’d completely agree. Let’s all have some fun and celebrate wins.
