Clemson Tigers continue to dominate Ohio State in every facet
The Clemson Tigers as a whole just continue their trend of dominance over Ohio State with a basketball win over the Buckeyes last night.
There’s just something about that “O.”
Whenever Clemson matches up with that scarlet and grey, they just seem to have the edge no matter what sport it is.
Last night, Brad Brownell and the basketball team traveled up to Columbus to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Most expected the Tigers to come out on the losing side of things, at least according to Vegas, but they did the exact opposite.
They not only won; they won impressively, blowing out Ohio State 79-65. A pretty convincing win on the road, but yet it shouldn’t surprise anyone.
It all goes back to 1978 when Clemson knocked off Woody Hayes and Ohio State 17-15 in the Gator Bowl.
While the Tigers may have beaten Ohio State on the field, the biggest story of the day had to do with Buckeyes coach Woody Hayes and his conduct on the side of the field. After Charlie Bauman made an interception that basically clinched the game for the Tigers in the fourth quarter, Hayes threw a punch that would go on to end his career.
And Ohio State has been losing to Clemson ever since. With that punch, Hayes doomed the Buckeyes for at least a half-century.
I believe it is called the “Woody Hayes curse.”
Clemson and Ohio State have only go on to match up twice (2013 and 2016) since then, both times in bowl games, with the Tigers winning both. Last year, Dabo Swinney and Co. defeated the Buckeyes 31-0 in the College Football Playoff.
Clemson’s band paid tribute to the victory earlier this year.

It’s always great to celebrate a Tiger win, no matter whether it be in football, basketball, or baseball. For some reason, Clemson just has Ohio State’s number and it’s a lot of fun seeing the continued success against them.
Let’s do a little celebrating today and remember, it’s all in good fun.
