Where will Clemson football be in the latest College Football Playoff rankings when they are released on Tuesday? Here’s a look at the CFB landscape.

It’s instant reaction Sunday here on Rubbing the Rock.

The Clemson football team defeated in-state rival South Carolina 34-10 on Saturday to finish the regular season 11-1.

The two teams in front of the Tigers (Alabama and Miami) lost, which should open up spots for Clemson to move up in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.

It’s tough to know what exactly the College Football Playoff committee will do when they meet on Tuesday, but here is our projected top-10 after last night.

College Football Playoff projected top-10:

  1. Clemson
  2. Oklahoma
  3. Auburn
  4. Wisconsin
  5. Georgia
  6. Alabama
  7. Miami
  8. Ohio State
  9. Penn State
  10. TCU

Thoughts:

In all honesty, there’s also a little “hope” placed in this poll. If you’re a Clemson football fan, you want to match up with Wisconsin in the first round of the playoff.

I don’t care how it’s done.

Whether it’s a 1 vs. 4 or a 2 vs. 3,  I just want the Tigers to play the Badgers. Why?

It’s basically a free pass to the National Championship game.

Overall, though, I think the rankings will look similar to these. I think the top-four will, without a doubt, be Clemson, Oklahoma, Auburn, and Wisconsin.

The only question really is in what order. Now, some may try to say that Alabama should be ahead of the Badgers, but I don’t think that will be the case.

I wouldn’t be surprised, actually, if Georgia is ahead of the Crimson Tide when the rankings come out on Tuesday.

Overall, though, Clemson football just needs to win. If the Tigers take care of business against Miami next week, they will be in the playoff and that’s all you can really ask for.
