Clemson football remained at No. 4 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. Here’s our thoughts on the top-10 and the Tigers’ resume.

The second 2017 College Football Playoff poll was revealed on Tuesday evening and there wasn’t any change, at least in the top-four.

Clemson football remained No. 4 in the poll, behind Notre Dame at No. 3, Alabama at No. 2 and Georgia at No. 1.

Here’s the week 10 top-10 College Football Playoff rankings:

  1. Georgia
  2. Alabama
  3. Notre Dame
  4. Clemson
  5. Oklahoma
  6. TCU
  7. Miami
  8. Wisconsin
  9. Washington
  10. Auburn

Thoughts:

Does that poll look familiar? Well, it should if you checked out our projected top-10 for this week’s rankings.

Not that it’s all that impressive because it doesn’t take a whole lot to have figured out who the top-10 would be.

I do think it’s interesting, however, looking at Clemson football’s resume. The Tigers have wins over Auburn (10), Virginia Tech (17), and NC State (23). That’s three wins over currently top-25 ranked teams. More than any other top-10 team so far.

The closest just so happens to be the team behind them: Oklahoma.

The Sooners’ resume includes wins over Oklahoma State (15) and Ohio State (13) with a loss to Iowa State (21). Oklahoma will take on TCU this weekend and still have West Virginia on their schedule as well.

In addition to Oklahoma-TCU, we will also see Auburn take on Georgia and Miami take on Notre Dame.

I think we will have some clarity after Saturday, as far as where things stand. For now, Clemson football just needs to keep winning and the Tiger have a great chance to be there in the College Football Playoff at the end.
