Where will Clemson football be ranked in the first 2017 CFB Playoff poll?
The first College Football Playoff poll of 2017 will be released tonight. Where will Clemson football fall when the committee releases the rankings?
The first College Football Playoff poll of 2017 will be released live tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
Depending on who you listen to, Clemson football could be ranked as high as No. 3 or as low as No. 8.
Where will the Tigers really be ranked when the poll comes out tonight?
Here’s our projected top-10 for the College Football Playoff poll.
- Alabama
- Georgia
- Notre Dame
- Ohio State
- Clemson
- Penn State
- Oklahoma
- Wisconsin
- Miami
- TCU
I think, for the most part, everyone has Alabama at one and Georgia at two. After that, it completely depends on the person.
Right now, I believe Clemson football will be right on the outside at No. 5. The loss to Syracuse, in my opinion, won’t sit well with the committee and that will lead to them putting Ohio State ahead of the Tigers.
I think Clemson could be ranked ahead of Notre Dame, but it depends on how good the committee thinks NC State is, as well.
In all honesty, Clemson has one of, if not the best resume in the country as far as wins are concerned.
But, I don’t think it will hurt the Tigers to be ranked outside of the top-5.
If Clemson is fifth or lower, that will lead to the Tigers being even hungrier heading into the game against NC State. They will be out to prove a point with the “disrespect card” being played at full force.

It will be interesting to see how the College Football Playoff committee handles these one-loss teams and how they handle undefeated Wisconsin and Miami. I think the Badgers and Hurricanes will still be behind the other teams because of their weak schedule.
We won’t know for sure until tonight. What do you think, Clemson football fans? Comment below!
