Clemson Football vs. Georgia Tech: Pick Against the Spread
Clemson football will host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at 8 p.m. Saturday. Here is our pick against the spread for the Tigers.
A three-game stretch of Georgia Tech, NC State, and Florida State will determine a whole lot about the 2017 Clemson football season.
The Tigers are currently 6-1 with a loss to Syracuse. A win on Saturday against the Yellow Jackets would solidify Clemson as a front-runner for the ACC Atlantic.
A loss, however, may very well knock the Tigers out of the ACC Championship discussion completely.
Clemson football’s playoff hopes also rely on this game.
The Tigers must go undefeated throughout the rest of the season to have a shot at the College Football Playoff.
It all starts with Georgia Tech.
Here’s our pick against the spread for the Tigers vs. the Yellow Jackets.
Clemson Football Pick Against the Spread:
Current Spread: Clemson -16
Spread Prediction: Clemson football comes into this game as a 16-point favorite over the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech has two losses, both of which have come by one point.

I see the Yellow Jackets keeping it close. I’m not sure that Clemson will move the ball at will. The Tigers have struggled offensively and the score may very well read something like 28-14 or 24-7.
I hope I’m wrong. I hope the offense explodes for 40+, but they just haven’t done that all season. The last couple of weeks, I’ve been burnt by picking Clemson to beat the spread. I want to see them do it and I believe they have a great chance.
I think the defense will come out fired up and ready to go and that may be enough for the Tigers to beat the spread. For now, though, I’ll take Georgia Tech plus the points.
That’s a really good Georgia Tech team and I don’t think Paul Johnson gets near enough credit for what he’s doing down in Atlanta with an injury-plagued team.
Current Over/Under: 52
Over/Under Prediction: If Vegas believes the over/under is 52 and the spread is 16, that means they are expecting a pretty high-scoring game.
Vegas expects something like 34-18 or 35-17. I could definitely see it turning out like that.
Like I said before, I’m hopeful that the Clemson offense will come out firing on all cylinders. But, until that happens, I have to stick with the trend.
The Tigers have been “under” the total 3 of the last 4 games. The only “over,” as a matter of fact, came in the loss to Syracuse.

We will see what happens Saturday. It’s really tough to predict how this team responds to adversity. Dabo Swinney has a track record for having his team look sharp after a loss and hopefully that will be the case when the Ramblin’ Wreck comes to town.
