Clemson Football: Trevor Lawrence breaks Deshaun Watson’s record
2018 Clemson football commit Trevor Lawrence just broke former Tiger quarterback Deshaun Watson’s high school passing record on Friday.
The state of Georgia will now have another career passing leader, still a Clemson football commit.
Former Tiger quarterback Deshaun Watson set the record during his high school career with 13,077 yards passing.
Lawrence just broke that record on Friday in the first half. Trevor Lawrence is also six touchdown passes behind Watson for that state record as well.
He will have one more regular season game and the playoffs to break that one.
Lawrence has led Cartersville to 38-straight wins and two state titles.
Here’s the play he broke the record on:
Thoughts:
I know it sounds almost sacrilegious to say around these parts, but I think Trevor Lawrence has a chance to be the best quarterback to ever wear a Clemson football uniform.
Every time I watch Lawrence play, he just makes everything look so easy.
He has a cannon for an arm and is very mobile. He can do a little bit of everything and that makes for a great combination in College.
I think it’s going to be really hard to keep him on the bench when he comes to Tiger Town next season.
I know that Clemson football will have the likes of Kelly Bryant and Hunter Johnson, but Lawrence is just on another level in many ways.

Many professional scouts say that Trevor Lawrence would be a first round pick right out of high school if he could go. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do when he joins the Clemson football team this upcoming season.
