Houston Texans come up with new definition for “Deshaun Watson”
The Houston Texans have been nothing short of pleased with former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson’s performance thus far in his 2017 rookie campaign.
Former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson has impressed the masses in his rookie season.
Through six games, Watson is completing 61.5% of his passes for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns to just five interceptions.
Deshaun Watson took over a Texans offense that was struggling to score and has since changed them into one of the top statistical offenses in the NFL.
The Texans, on National Dictionary Day, decided to come up with a definition for “Deshauning,” as they termed it.
The Tweet reads: Deshauning (verb)
- To make a spectacular play
- To remain poised in all situations
Thoughts:
It’s clear Deshaun Watson is doing well for himself. Not only is he playing well on the field, but he is doing the right thing off the field, as we all knew he would.
Watson donated his first NFL check to the lunch ladies that feed the team and is currently helping to refurnish 176 houses damaged from Hurricane Harvey.
He has the Texans (3-3) tied for first place in the AFC South with the Jacksonville Jaguars and leads the NFL in touchdown passes.
I don’t think the Texans could have made a better draft decision.
Obviously, Deshaun is still learning, but he is getting better week-after-week. I’m impressed with what he’s been able to do so early in his career. He is getting the job done with his arm and his legs and is slowing, but surely becoming one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

Overall, he’s done an awesome job as a leader and quarterback. The Texans will have a bye this week before traveling to take on the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, October 29th.
