Defensive line: B

Clemson’s defensive line continued their strong play in week four. The Tigers have lived up to their preseason hype, smothering opponents on the ground and terrorizing quarterbacks in the pocket.

While the Tigers’ didn’t get much pressure on Eagles quarterback, Anthony Brown in this one, they were unmovable against the run. Boston College rushed for 97 yards total on 34 carries. Clemson also tallied six tackles for loss on the day.

Brent Venables does a good job of keeping this defensive line fresh throughout the duration of a game. He mixes up his packages in order to combat the up-tempo offensive attacks that the Tigers face. Albert Huggins, Nyles Pinckney and Jabril Robinson have provided Clemson with valuable minutes this season.

Barring any unforeseen injuries, this may go down as the best defensive line Clemson has fielded under Brent Venables.
