Clemson football’s game time against the Louisville Cardinals has been moved to accommodate College GameDay. Will it affect the Tigers on Saturday?

The ACC announced on Sunday that Clemson football’s game against the Louisville Cardinals had changed times.

The Tigers were originally supposed to play the Cardinals at 3:30 p.m.

Now, that game has been moved to 8 p.m. on ABC due to ESPN College GameDay announcing they would be coming to Louisville.

The question I’ve gotten the most since this happened is “how will this affect Clemson football?” Here’s my answer to that in short.

It won’t.

At the end of the day, the best team is going to win. I know that Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium is a tougher place to play at night, but Clemson football still should win.

If the Tigers are the better team, they will come away with the victory. The environment will certainly be tougher to play in, but that’s something the offense, especially, is going to have to get used to.

This could also help Clemson.

I’d assume that many National Analysts will pick Louisville to beat the Tigers. That plays right into the advantage of Clemson football. Dabo Swinney will be able to harp on the “disrespect train” and that very well may be what Clemson needs.

The Tigers will also be able to play on national television for the second-straight week.

That’s more exposure for recruiting. All of those 5-star recruits that just paid Death Valley a visit will be watching Clemson once again, this time on television.

If the Tigers could come up with a win, the changed the time slot could play into their advantage.

Overall, this is a neither here nor there thing. It’s just about playing football and that’s what Clemson needs to focus on doing.
