Clemson football commit hosting 4-star teammate on visit
Clemson football commit’s, Xavier Thomas and Mike Jones Jr. will be making the trip to Death Valley for Clemson’s matchup with Auburn. Fellow IMG Ascender and 4-star Nebraska commit, Bookie Radley-Hiles will be visiting with them.
Thomas and Jones Jr. have been committed to Clemson for some time now. The two of them have also been Clemson’s most vocal advocates on the recruiting trail. Radley-Hiles is the most recent in the long list of prospects that Thomas and Jones Jr. have set their sights on.
Clemson football had shown interest in Radley-Hiles during the spring, but, held off on extending a scholarship offer. That offer recently came in late August.
Thoughts
Clemson currently holds a commitment from 4-star ATH, Kyler McMichael, who projects as a corner back at the next level. The Tigers would like to bring on at least one more defensive back in this recruiting cycle.
With Clemson missing out on 5-star corners, Anthony Cook and Tyson Campbell, it’s no surprise that they are actively pursuing Radley-Hiles. While he is not the biggest defensive back at 5-foot-10, Radley-Hiles has phenomenal instincts and ball skills.
The Nebraska commit has a mentality similar to former Tiger, Mackensie Alexander. Both play with an infectious swagger. Radley-Hiles’ tenacity would fit perfect in Brent Venables aggressive defense.
It will be interesting to see what kind of headway Clemson is able to make in his recruitment following this weekend. While he will be taking an unofficial visit, Death Valley is a special environment, that have swayed recruits in the past. Pair the Tigers’ home atmosphere, with their recent success on the field and you’ve got yourself a recruiting ace.

Just last season, Clemson was able to lure 4-star running back, Travis Etienne Jr., away from the in-state LSU Tigers just three weeks before National Signing Day. It’s safe to say Dabo Swinney and company have more than enough time to flip Radley-Hiles.
