Clemson Football: 5 Storylines to watch vs. Auburn
4. Jarrett Stidham’s outing
On the flip side, everything said about Kelly Bryant can be said about Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham.
You could also take it a step further and say that Stidham will be playing in the most hostile environment he’s ever played in.
How does that affect the young gunslinger?
Against Georgia Southern, the sophomore completed 14-of-24 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. He also rushed the ball nine times for 17 yards.
Look, I’m not saying that Stidham isn’t a good quarterback. But those numbers are suspect.
Auburn did a lot of the same things that Clemson did for Kelly Bryant.
The Tigers of the SEC let Stidham sort of get into a rhythm with several short passes to the sideline. Stidham also isn’t afraid to pull the ball down and run the ball either.
He made a nice touchdown throw in the fourth quarter, but it’s clear that Auburn relied upon its running game.
