FSU QB Deondre Francois out for season: 3 Things it means for Clemson football
2. It puts a bigger emphasis on the Louisville game
With a lot of this stuff, it’s just too early to tell.
I believed heading into the Clemson football season that the Tigers could lose to Louisville and still win the ACC Atlantic.
I thought both Florida State and NC State would beat the Cardinals.
Now, I’m not so sure.
Florida State has Miami and NC State before playing Louisville in mid-October. I’m almost convinced they may drop one of those.
If they do, it basically makes the Atlantic Division race a two-team race between Clemson and Louisville.
That means that the winner of the Tigers and the Cardinals is in prime position to take the conference.
Louisville did struggle with Purdue in Week 1, so you never know, and you can’t forget the fact that Florida State still has plenty of talent to go around, especially on that defense.
But you just can’t help but think losing a leader like Francois sets the Seminoles back and makes the Louisville game almost a must-win.
Only time will tell, after all we are only one week into the season, but if you arrange the tealeaves a certain way, the pressure truly lies in the Louisville game for Clemson football.
