Linebackers: B

Clemson’s linebackers had their work cut out for them against Kent State. That formidable defensive line that we just discussed, gave guys like Kendall Joseph and Dorian O’Daniel clear paths to the backfield.

Joseph was all over the field against the Golden Flashes’ displaying his instincts and closing speed. This game did not give us an accurate idea of what to expect from Clemson’s linebackers this season, as Kent State rarely got past the first level of this defense.

With Auburn coming down the pike, we will quickly find out just how talented these linebackers are. From a physical standpoint, this is one of the most impressive groups of linebackers that Brent Venables has ever had at Clemson.

Sophomore, Tre’ Lamar looks like a man amongst boys with his 6-foot-4, 250 pound frame. If he can live up to the expectations, this defense will be just fine.
