Wide Receivers/Tight ends: B+

Clemson’s pass catchers were superb once again. Just like in seasons past, Clemson finds themselves with a wealth of depth on the perimeter.

The Tigers had 15 different people record at least one reception against Kent State. In the same breadth, no one caught more than three passes, which shows you how much the ball was spread around.

To be frank, Kent State had no shot against Clemson. The Golden Flashes were over-matched at every position. As such, the Tigers did not have to get creative to move the football. Co-offensive coordinators, Jeff Scott and Tony Elliott were able to get everyone involved in the offense while, keeping it fairly vanilla from a play calling standpoint.

This is why I am giving Clemson’s pass catchers a B+. They executed the plays well, caught the ball when given the opportunity, but, there were few splash plays. Aside from Deon Cain’s long touchdown catch, there were no long receptions that stood.
