Quarterbacks: A

Each of Clemson’s three quarterbacks got valuable in-game action against Kent State, with Bryant taking the lions share of the reps.

As I previously mentioned, Bryant was impressive in his debut as the starter, displaying his game breaking speed and good decision making. While he did play well, it’s important to remember that this was the first game of the season. As such, the hype train needs to stay in the station for right now.

Zerrick Cooper and Hunter Johnson each played well in the limited amount of reps they were given. Cooper completed four of his six passing attempts for 37 yards, including a 14 yard strike to Cornell Powell. Johnson completed five of his six passing attempts for 39 yards.

All-in-all, it was a good showing for Clemson’s quarterbacks. None of the three posted a quarterback rating lower than 88.4. Collectively, they completed 71 percent of their passes for 312 yards and two touchdowns. I would feel comfortable with Cooper or Bryant filling in for Bryant in the case of an injury.
