The 2017 season-opener for Clemson football season is less than three hours away from kickoff. Here are our last minute predictions for the noon tilt.

There’s Clemson football today.

After a long offseason, College Football is finally back in full swing. Clemson will open up its’ season with the Golden Flashes of Kent State and there are several question marks entering the match up.

Everyone wants to know how the quarterbacks will fare. Everyone wants to see the talented freshmen.

All that being said, here are our last minute predictions for Clemson football as the Tigers take the field against Kent State.

  • Clemson scores on its’ first drive of the season.

There won’t be a 3-and-out to begin this ballgame on this Clemson side. I think the Tigers will score on the very first drive.

I’d expect someone, whether that be Kelly Bryant or one of the wide receivers to break off a big play. The Tigers will punch the ball into the end zone and take the lead.

Death Valley will roar, with good reason, and the offense, at least early on, will be off to a good start.

  • Tavien Feaster breaks 100 yards rushing

Feaster is currently listed as the second-string guy on the Clemson football depth chart at running back.

That very well may not be the case after the season-opener.

I believe on about 10 carries, Feaster will go over 100 yards and have a couple of explosive plays. I think he’ll prove to be the best running back on the team and show why he was so highly touted out of high school.

  • Dexter Lawrence/Christian Wilkins Duo is noticeable

Look, let’s be honest.

The average College Football fan notices quarterbacks, long touchdowns, sacks, interceptions, and game-breaking plays.

No one notices the work being done on the interior offensive or defensive line. That’s going to be noticed on Saturday.

Tiger fans are going to see just how Wilkins and Lawrence plug up the running holes and make some big tackles.

I think you’ll come away with a respect for those guys and an excitement for what the rest of the season holds.
