2018 Clemson football QB commit Trevor Lawrence took the center stage on ESPN 2 and ESPNNews on Saturday night.
Lawrence led Cartersville (GA) to a 52-45 win over Bartram Trail to put the Hurricanes at 2-0 on the year after a Week 0 win last week.
Cartersville led 31-3 at one point but Bartram Trail made a comeback before falling the final minutes.
Lawrence finished the matchup, completing 18-of-22 passes for 403 yards and four touchdowns.
Here’s some of his highlights from the game:

This is just a display of arm strength and accuracy. That wide receiver has two defenders on him and Lawrence puts it right where it needs to be in order for his guy to go get it. That’s also right on the money from 50+ yards away.
That’s really impressive for a high schooler for sure and just a testament to what he is able to do at quarterback.

Here Lawrence puts on the good ole’ “shake and bake.” He uses a spin move to escape a defender’s tackle attempt and picks up the yardage needed.
Nothing too significant here, but it does show his athleticism and ability to run the ball when called upon.

This is the type of throw Deshaun Watson used to make during his time with Clemson football.
The wide receiver breaks open and Lawrence hits him with a bullet in open space. That’s just perfect. You can’t ask for anything better out of both the QB and the WR in that play.

This is my favorite highlight of the game.
Rolling out and under pressure, Lawrence makes a throw that many NFL quarterbacks aren’t capable of making.
He puts the ball right in the receiver’s hands on the run for a 40+-yard touchdown.

While a lot of these highlights are impressive, what may be the most impressive thing is that Trevor Lawrence was able to lead his team on a game-winning drive after the team gave away a huge lead.
That shows me he is a winner. He’s not shaken up by anything and he has that clutch gene that Deshaun Watson possessed. I don’t know what’s not to like about Lawrence.
