Week 5:

Who? Clemson at Virginia Tech

The Competitors: Georgia at Tennessee, South Carolina at Texas A&M

Probability: 50%

BottomLine: Virginia Tech is currently ranked No. 21 in the AP poll. If the Hokies win games against West Virginia, Delaware, East Carolina, and Old Dominion, they could very well be in the top-15.

Whether the Tigers beat Louisville or not, this would still be a potential top-15 matchup.

If Clemson could beat both Auburn and Louisville, the Tigers could ranked inside the top-three.

The biggest competitor to College GameDay coming to Blacksburg is Georgia-Tennessee. GameDay could go “off the map” and go to USF at ECU to give the group of five a little publicity, but I think it’d be between these two games.

There’s a chance that a team or two could emerge by week five to become competitors as well, a game like Ole Miss at Alabama or Baylor at Kansas State could make its’ way up the food chain, but I think there’s a better chance that the crew choose to come and feature the Tigers and the Hokies.

Only time will tell, but I’d say Clemson and Virginia Tech are tied with Georgia and Tennessee for the GameDay slot in week five.
