The opening week for College Football is basically upon us. Here are some vegas odds for Clemson football and others as we approach the season.
Clemson football opens up its 2017 campaign against the Kent State Golden Flashes in just nine days.
The Tigers are the 2016 defending national champions and it’s clear that Dabo Swinney and Co. are expecting to be competing again this season. Clemson football has named its starting quarterback and it seems the Tigers are ready to get back into Death Valley.
There’s actually College Football this weekend.
We will actually be graced with the matchups of Oregon State and Colorado State, Stanford and Rice, and several others.
Here are some updated Vegas odds, according to Sportsbook Review for the first week of the season in College Football.
Clemson Tigers vs. Kent State Golden Flashes
When: Saturday, September 2
Opening Line: Clemson -38.5
Quick Thoughts: Next week, we will have College Football spread predictions. I’m not quite ready to give a prediction on this game, but I do believe that Clemson football will win this game by a lot of points. 40 is a lot when you’re breaking in a lot of new pieces on offense, but it is certainly conceivable for the Tigers.
Other Notable Spreads: (Game/Favorite)
- Washington vs. Rutgers: Huskies -30.5
- Texas vs. Maryland: Longhorns -17
- NC State vs. South Carolina: Wolfpack -5
- Michigan vs. Florida: Wolverines -4.5
- Georgia vs. App State: Bulldogs -13.5
- Auburn vs. Georgia Southern: Tigers -35
- Louisville vs. Purdue: Cardinals -26.5
- Florida State vs. Alabama: Crimson Tide -7
- Texas A&M vs. UCLA: Bruins -3
- West Virginia vs. Virginia Tech: Hokies -4
- Tennessee vs. Georgia Tech: Vols -4
Thoughts on opening week: There’s a lot of games I wouldn’t mind tuning into this coming weekend.
Like I said before, we will have spread predictions next week, but if you want a few locks, I’d take NC State -5 and Georgia Tech +4. I think the Vols will fall even with Dedrick Mills being dismissed from the Yellow Jackets.
Next: Two Clemson players named to preseason AP All Americans
Overall, the College Football openers are shaping up to be really intriguing and, truthfully, I don’t care who you watch, it will just be nice to see football start up again.
