Clemson Football 2017: Stars of the Tigers’ Fall Camp
Offensive Line: Justin Falcinelli
This is a position group that doesn’t get talked about near enough.
It would be easy to go with “obvious” pick and talk about LT Mitch Hyatt and how he’s becoming a leader and has gotten so much stronger and faster from last season.
It would also be tempting to talk about Tremayne Anchrum and how it seems, at least right now, that he has a hold on that right tackle position, but I’m not going to do that.
The biggest question other than quarterback entering the 2017 season, in my opinion, was how Justin Falcinelli would do at center trying to replace a veteran like Jay Guillermo.
Now, that still remains to be seen. We haven’t even played a snap yet.
But, the best news you can hear at the center position is no news.
That means that Falcinelli is doing a good job getting the ball to the quarterback out of the shotgun snap and helping lead the offensive line in the right direction.
That’s huge for Clemson football.
As long as it continues through the season, Falcinelli’s performance at center will be one of the most overlooked keys in 2017.
I believe he has what it takes to step in and do a good job and he’s had a good fall camp thus far. Hopefully he, just like Kelly Bryant, can translate that to Saturdays.
