Clemson Football Recruiting: Kyler McMichael a potential flip candidate?
Clemson football commit, Kyler McMichael recently received a crystal ball prediction for Auburn. Should the Tigers be worried about the status of his commitment?
Crystal ball predictions – while they can be wrong – are generally reliable. These predictions are made by recruiting analysts who often speak to these recruits directly, giving them a much more intimate understanding of a prospects recruitment.
Kyler McMichael committed to the Clemson football program back in late June, choosing the Tigers over Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia and Tennessee. Now according to 247sports Auburn recruiting insider, Keith Niebuhr McMichael may be rethinking his decision.
Thoughts?
There is no need to panic at the moment. One crystal ball prediction is not worrisome for a prospect who is already committed elsewhere. Now, should the Auburn crystal ball predictions begin to snowball, then Clemson should start to worry.
For a prospect who is set to decide between two finalists, then one crystal ball prediction can be significant. But, for a committed prospect, one crystal ball towards another school could just be whispers here and there.
Take current Ohio State pledge, Jaiden Woodbey for instance, who has been committed to the Buckeyes since February of this year. Since committing to OSU, Woodbey has garnered a total of six crystal ball predictions to three programs other than Ohio State. Be that as it may, Woodbey took to twitter to affirm his commitment to the Buckeyes in late July.
As you can see, the only person that truly knows what’s going on inside the head of a recruit, is that recruit. Outside of the sole crystal ball prediction, there has been no waves in McMichael’s recruitment since committing to Clemson.
A potential flip is something to keep an eye on throughout the fall, especially if Auburn has a good season. With the two programs set to throw-down in week 2, McMichael will get a first hand look at how the two stack up.
Clemson and Auburn both recruit the state of Georgia extremely hard. As such, McMichael isn’t the first prospect the two have battled over and he certainly won’t be the last.
