No. 2 – Jaylen Smith (WR) Louisville

Louisville’s explosive offense experienced some major losses this offseason. Their top three receiving targets, James Quick, Cole Hikutini and Jamari Staples all moved on to the NFL. As well as veteran running back, Brandon Radcliff.

Junior wide out, Jaylen Smith hopes to provide reigning Heisman trophy winner, Lamar Jackson with a bonafide No. 1 target this season. During his sophomore campaign, Smith caught 27 passes for 599 yards and 6 touchdowns. Smith epitomized the term “deep threat”, averaging an absurd 22.2 yards per reception.

Check out Smith’s highlights here.

At 6-foot-4, 210 pounds, Smith is more than your conventional big-bodied receiver. He has legitimate vertical speed, routinely getting behind opposing secondary’s. Smith runs smooth routes, transitioning out of breaks effortlessly.

Clemson will have their hands full with this Cardinals offense once again in 2017. With Smith’s deceptive speed and Jackson’s cannon of an arm, the Tigers’ secondary must come prepared.
