10 Reasons Clemson Football Will Make the CFB Playoff in 2017
2. The coaching staff gives Clemson football an advantage
Dabo Swinney’s 39-3 home record in the last six seasons is just one example of what this coaching staff has done for the Clemson football program.
Swinney is one of the top coaches in the nation.
Brent Venables is the best Defensive Coordinator in the nation.
Jeff Scott and Tony Elliott have proven to be very good Co-Offensive Coordinators, although they will face their biggest test yet in 2017 as they have to replace all of the skill position players from a year ago.
The position coaches have been very good and Swinney just seems to be the mastermind who makes all the right hires and puts his program in the very best place to recruit and compete at the highest level.
The point is this: Who’s coaching staff will Clemson football face in 2017 that they do not have the advantage?
The only- and I stress only– one that comes close is Florida State with Jimbo Fisher and Charles Kelly. The Seminoles have a very good staff that can compete with some of the best in the nation.
Other than FSU, who else compares?
You can’t tell me that Bobby Petrino and his staff at Louisville or that Gus Malzahn and Kevin Steele are a match for the Tigers as far as coaching is concerned.
