Former Clemson football quarterback Deshaun Watson has worked his way up the food chain and is now getting reps with the first team for the Houston Texans.
Former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson started out as the third-team guy for the Houston Texans and quickly worked his way up to second string during the summer.
He’s now getting snaps with the first-team offense for the Texans and it seems as if he’s doing pretty well, according to beat reporter John McClain.
Watson has been getting a few snaps with ones. CB Kareem Jackson also playing safety.

The media out in Houston are finally catching on to what Clemson football fans and media member have been saying all along.
Watson is so smart, can now correct mistakes on the fly. He's more confident at the line and makes the correct changes when calling signals

Savage and Watson take turns throwing passes timed perfectly on out routes.

It really comes as no surprise to us that Deshaun Watson is performing so well out in Houston, but it seems that he is beginning to take the NFL by storm. More and more Texan fans are beginning to push for Watson to be the starter coming right out of the gate.
It seems he is going toe-to-toe with Tom Savage in a great QB battle. Savage is the starter right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Watson, at the very least, get to lead a few drives in Game 1 when when the Texans open up at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 10th.
In the preseason game with the Carolina Panthers, I was very impressed with what Deshaun Watson did with what he was given. He didn’t have the starting offensive line and was playing with guys that aren’t necessarily going to have a lot of playing time during the regular season.
Yahoo’s Brad Evans is certainly high on Deshaun Watson.
BOLD PREDICTION: Deshaun Watson wins the Texans QB gig out of camp and toes the QB15 line by year's end. Love his scoring duality.

What do you think, Clemson football fans? I personally don’t believe Watson will be the “starter” come Week 1, but I could be wrong.

I do, however, believe he will be the starter before the season comes to an end. The Houston Texans would be better off letting him play and I believe Watson could lead them to the playoffs in his rookie season.
