Clemson Football 2017: Predicting the Quarterback Situation
What will happen at Quarterback?
So, the main question every Clemson football fan wants to know is what will happen at quarterback.
I think it’s pretty clear who will take the field first for the Tigers’ in Death Valley against Kent State. Kelly Bryant is going to get the first shot.
Bryant has become one of, if not, the unquestioned leader of the offense. He is going to take the first snap at quarterback and what he does will determine how the rest shapes out.
I also believe you will see at least one other quarterback in Game 1 early.
Either Hunter Johnson or Zerrick Cooper will get a chance to lead the offense in the first half while the game is still close and both of them will get an opportunity before the game is over.
After seeing the QBs compete in real game action, we will have a better idea of who the starter should be and, after the Auburn game, I believe we will know who the starter should be.
I don’t think this coaching staff will go with a two-quarterback system, but it very well could be an effective attack. If you have designed packages for Kelly Bryant and then let Hunter Johnson run the other portion of your offense, you could end up with a two-headed attack that makes an impact far greater than you’d expect.

Here’s my prediction:
You see Kelly Bryant listed as the starter, but Hunter Johnson continues to get more reps as the season progresses.
Bryant will be the starting quarterback through September and after, I believe you will see Johnson begin to take a more hands-on role, but he will still not unseat Kelly Bryant as the listed starter.
