Saturday, September 16th: @ Louisville Cardinals

Clemson football will be coming into this game with an unproven at quarterback in a hostile road environment.

Louisville, led by reigning Heisman trophy winner Lamar Jackson, will also be looking for revenge as they have yet to knock off the Tigers despite some close outings the past three seasons.

Will this be the year that the Cardinals finally knock off the Tigers?

I still have my suspicions about Louisville, although I do believe that their defense will be very good and Lamar Jackson will be improved from last season, but I still believe Clemson is the more talented team from top-to-bottom.

That won’t stop Vegas, though.

I would be shocked if Clemson football was a favorite in this game. On the road in Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium with a new quarterback. That’s tough to pass up on.

This is a game that, in fact, many Clemson experts are picking the Tigers to lose. I believe Clemson will come into this game around a three-point underdog for the first time since the National Championship game against Alabama.

But that may not be a bad thing.

Clemson, under Dabo Swinney, seems to play better as an underdog and maybe that “disrespect”- for lack of a better term- is what the Tigers need to get out of Louisville, Kentucky with a win.

Only time will tell, but as far as the spread is concerned, I’d fully expect the Cardinals to be favored in this one.

Spread: Clemson +3
