Saturday, November 25th: @ South Carolina Gamecocks

#NeverAgain #SpursUp

That’s what we’ve been hearing from all the South Carolina football players, coaches, and fans.

As a matter of fact, since the November matchup, we also learned from Gamecock quarterback Jake Bentley that “Clemson was not that much better [than us] if better at all.”

The funny thing about that quote is strictly this: Clemson wasn’t 49 points better than South Carolina, it was more like 60 points better.

The Tigers could’ve scored as many times as they wanted to. They could’ve poured it on the Gamecocks and completely just embarrassed their in-state rival.

Instead, Swinney elected to play everybody and get valuable reps for guys that would be making an impact on this year’s team.

And before I hear from Gamecock fans saying how “Clemson lost all those guys from last year’s team,” I just want you to remember that the defensive linemen that kept Jake Bentley on his back all night are all back and they are better than ever.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I fully believe South Carolina will be improved from last year. They very well may compete in the SEC East and I think they will take a step up and win around seven games, but one of them won’t be at home against Clemson.

They will show up as ready as they can be, but talent beats heart.

I don’t think it will quite be 56-7 this time around, but I’m not buying Jake Bentley’s notion that the two teams are on equal footing.

All due respect to Bentley, who I believe will have a great year in Columbia, the folks at Vegas  won’t be buying it either.

Spread: Clemson -28.5
