Many Clemson football fans have written off Kelly Bryant as a viable starting quarterback, but his confidence brings back memories of his high school days.

Many Clemson football fans have already decided that Kelly Bryant can’t be a viable starting quarterback, but the confidence he has come into fall camp with begs to differ.

Bryant spoke to the media after Thursday’s practice and here’s what he had to say about that swagger, according to David Hood of Tigernet.

"“That’s something I have really really tried to focus on during the offseason, just getting back to myself and having that confidence. It helps me so much more when I am confident and believe in myself. When guys see that I am confident, they can rally around it as well.”"

From all accounts, Kelly Bryant is the clear leader of the Clemson football offense.

I believe that the quarterback race is going to be a tight one between Bryant and Hunter Johnson. Zerrick Cooper may also make a claim for himself, but Kelly Bryant’s experience and confidence may make all the difference.

He now weighs 222 and I just can’t imagine the Tigers not at least having some kind of packages for him to run. He is too athletic and explosive for them to keep him on the bench and, now that his passing game has gotten stronger, he very well may be in line to take the reins from Deshaun Watson on a full-time basis.
