Watch: Former Tiger DeAndre Hopkins makes sick one-handed catch
The Houston Texans have a plethora of former Clemson Tigers’ on their roster, most notably, DeAndre Hopkins, whom made a ridiculous one-handed catch during today’s practice.
DeAndre Hopkins has been a consistent force for the Texans during his four seasons in the NFL. Over that span of time, Hopkins has amassed, 317 receptions for 4,487 yards and 23, despite the Texans underwhelming quarterback play.
Hopkins, known as “Nuk” by the Clemson faithful, is perhaps the best natural pass-catcher to ever suit up in a Tigers jersey. While playing under Dabo Swinney, Hopkins and fellow NFL star, Sammy Watkins combined to become one of the most explosive duo of wide recievers in the history of College Football.
Coming into the 2017 season, Houston finally has a legitimate quarterback on the roster in former Clemson great, Deshaun Watson. While Watson is just a rookie, I believe he is a serious upgrade from Brock Osweiler and he has been impressive thus far.
During practice today, Hopkins was lined up in a one-one-one situation, running a fade route. After separating from the defender he hauled in what was surely and ESPN top 10 catch. You can view the outstanding play below.
If that catch is any indication of the shape that Hopkins is in coming into his fifth year in the NFL, then opponents beware. Judging off of what the former Clemson star was able to accomplish with below-average quarterback play, he could be in for a 1st team All-pro season with Watson under center in 2017.

Hopkins won’t be the only former Clemson receiver tearing it up in the NFL this season. Fellow Tigers, Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant, Adam Humphries and Charone Peake are primed for productive years in 2017.
