Clemson Football: Tigers offer two lock-down 2019 defensive backs
The Clemson football program recently extended scholarship offers to two 2019 corner back prospects from the state of Georgia; DJ Turner II of North Gwinnett and Andrew Booth Jr. of Archer HS.
It’s no secret that the state of Georgia produces some of the best high school football players in the country. The Clemson football program has benefited from this large pool of talent in the past and is looking to continue that trend in the future.
Let’s take a look at the Tigers most recent offers
DJ Turner II
Turner II attends the same high school as current star-offensive lineman, Mitch Hyatt, though Hyatt had already left for Clemson by the time Turner II was entering high school. Standing 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, Turner II has room to develop physically being as though he is just a rising junior.
The North Gwinnett standout is oozing with talent, he has rare ball skills for a defensive back and he is a surprisingly hard hitter given his slender frame. Alabama was quick to follow Clemson in offering Turner II, which shows how talented he is. Turner II reminds me of current Tide corner, Minkah Fitzpatrick because of his tenaciousness in coverage and his ball skills.
Andrew Booth Jr.
Archer High School is absolutely loaded in the secondary coming into the 2017 season. Nearly every member of the Tigers secondary holds a major division one offer coming into their respective junior seasons.
Booth Jr. is a lock-down corner in every sense of the word. Standing 6-foot, 180 pounds, he has the size to cover bigger recievers and tight ends, paired with the feet to cover shifty slot receivers.
The talented junior would be a huge get for Clemson, not only because he is from the state of Georgia, but, because the Tigers may miss out on a few of their defensive back prospects in the 2018 recruiting cycle.

At the moment, it appears that Clemson is a legitimate contender in Booth Jr.’s recruitment as they have received his lone crystal ball prediction. Only time will tell as both Booth Jr. and Turner II are still early in their recruitment.
