Clemson commit, Mike Jones Jr. recently tweeted a playful jab at University of Miami commit and fellow IMG teammate, Brian Hightower.

In order to understand Jones’ tweet, we must travel back in time to the 2015 matchup between Clemson and Miami. On that sunny October day, the Tigers handed the Hurricanes their worst loss in program history by a score of 58-0.

Now to the recent tweets.

The conversation opened with 2018 Clemson football commit, Jake Venables – son of Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables – tweeting the following.

Venables tagged three fellow 2018 prospects in the tweet, Xavier Thomas (Clemson commit), Mikes Jones Jr. (Clemson commit) and Brevin Jordan (Miami Commit). That’s when Jones’ took to twitter to express his feelings on the matter.

Jones has long been Clemson’s most vocal commit and he is certainly confident in Clemson’s strength as a program. Clemson and Miami have two commits a piece that attend IMG Academy. As such, there will likely be a healthy amount of trash talk between the commits during their senior seasons.

Miami (1) and Clemson (11) both currently hold top 15 recruiting classes according to the 247sports recruiting class rankings.
