Clemson has yet to offer a multitude of prospects in the 2019 recruiting class, however, the ones that they have offered appear to be elite. Litchfield Ajavon of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia is elite in every sense of the word.

Clemson has made a poignant effort to recruit the state of Virginia in recent recruiting classes, bringing in the likes of Chad Smith in 2015, K’Von Wallace in 2016 and most recently Jordan Williams. Ajavon could be the next great prospect to come out of the fertile recruiting ground that is Virginia.

Strengths-

For a prospect of his size (6-foot, 185 pounds) Ajavon hits like a freight train. There are multiple instances on film of him filling the alley in run support and jarring the ball loose from ball carriers. Ajavon is undoubtedly a big hitter by nature.

Ajavon also has good instincts, he does not over-pursue plays and is rarely out of position. On the rare occasion that he is out of position, he has the closing speed to make up for it.

Need-

At the moment, it’s difficult to project what Clemson’s need for defensive back prospects will be in the 2019 recruiting class. The Tigers have a host of talented defensive backs on the current roster, including Trayvon Mullen, K’Von Wallace, Tanner Muse and Isaiah Simmons among many others.

Regardless of Clemson’s need, they will surely be hot on the trail of Ajavon, because of his top-flight talent.

Outlook-

The dynamic sophomore already holds eight scholarship offers from programs such as Georgia, Notre Dame and Michigan. As such, Clemson has their work cut out for them in the recruitment of Ajavon.

Being as though Clemson is coming off of a National Championship, they have an added amount of clout in the minds of recruits. This bodes well for the Tigers as they will have to go up against some of the best recruiters in the country to land Ajavon.
