This afternoon, Clemson hosted five-star wide receiver, Justyn Ross, from Central high school in Phenix City, Alabama. It appears that the Tigers strengthened their chances at landing Ross.
Under Dabo Swinney, Clemson has recruited exceptionally well at wide receiver. The Tigers have gone into the state of Florida to grab guys like Sammy Watkins and Artavis Scott and most recently the state of Tennessee to grab the likes of Tee Higgins and Amari Rogers. As such, Clemson is not afraid to go up against in-state powers Auburn and Alabama to land Ross.
While the Tigers may be late to the party in Ross’s recruitment, they appear to be squarely in the mix to land the five-star wide out.
A handful of current Clemson commits welcomed Ross to join them in Death Valley.
Ross would be a huge get for Clemson as they look to replace Mike Williams, a big bodied, deep threat. While Clemson’s current wide receiver situation is far from dire, adding Ross to the mix would give the Tigers an arsenal of weapons entering the 2018 season.
The Tigers 2018 recruiting class is already special, currently holding commitments from top two players in the country according to 247sports. However, Clemson is far from done, they are in the drivers seat for the services of five-star defensive end, KJ Henry and five-star offensive tackle, Jackson Carman.
Depending on how Clemson finishes down the stretch they could potentially sign the best recruiting class in program history.
