T.J. Chase (WR) Plant City, Florida:

T.J. Chase came to Clemson from Plant City High School in Plant City, Florida. Chase also played for a season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, one of the nations premier high school football programs. 247sports had Chase ranked as the 42nd wide receiver prospect in the country and the 215th overall player in the country.

There is no shame in redshirting as a receiver at Clemson. The Tigers had one of the deepest rotation’s in the entire country last season, featuring Mike Williams, the number one wide receiver prospect in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Best Attributes:

The Clemson football program prides themselves on playing with toughness. T.J. Chase is yet another tough wide receiver in the Tigers arsenal. Chase is not the fastest receiver in the world and it is clear that he understands that in the way that he plays. Chase uses his feet and hands well to create separation from defensive backs.

One of the most impressive aspects of T.J. Chase’s game is his versatility. Chase can run a fade in one-on-one coverage, run a six yard hitch, and he is more than willing to make the tough catches in traffic.

Expectations:

With the talent that the Clemson Football program has already in place, I do not expect Chase to make a significant impact in the 2017 season. That being said, Chase will be a consistent force in Clemson’s offense down the road. I liken Chase to former Tiger, Charone Peake, because of their sure hands and impeccable fundamentals. Much like Peake, Chase will not wow you with his speed, however, he will consistently get open and catch the football.
