ACC Coastal

Now, we’ve finally made it back to ACC country.

The clear favorite to win the ACC Coastal is the North Carolina Tar Heels and with good reason, but there are several teams that could make a run in this wacky side of the ACC.

Here are some key games to watch in the ACC Coastal.

Key games:

  • Miami at Georgia Tech, October 1st
  • Virginia Tech at North Carolina, October 8th
  • North Carolina at Miami, October 15th
  • Virginia Tech at Pittsburgh, October 27th
  • Duke at Georgia Tech, October 29th
  • Georgia Tech at North Carolina, November 5th
  • Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech, November 12th
  • North Carolina at Duke, November 10th
  • Duke at Miami, November 26th

UNC returns 10 starters on an prolific offense from last season and have a great chance to have an improved defense this season. They very well could fall by the wayside, but I see them winning the Coastal this season.

Pittsburgh may have as good of a chance as any as the Panthers boast running back James Connor and a plethora of NFL talent, but unproven depth and experience have them as the dark horses to come through the ACC Coastal.

Look for Georgia Tech to have a bounce-back year after so many injuries last season and I would fully expect Virginia Tech to be back on the radar after a coaching change. As a matter of fact, if the Hokies can muster any kind of offense, they may become the favorite to win this side of the conference, but for now- we’ll stick with Baby Blue.
