2. Trayvon Mullen
Clemson football picked up a gem when they got the commitment of corner back Trayvon Mullen on National Signing Day. Mullen has the same kind of ability to lock down wide receivers as Mackensie Alexander did for Clemson football the past couple of years.
It will be a tough task for Mullen to come in and earn the starting spot opposite side of Cordrea Tankersley, but he certainly has the talent to do so.
I believe it may be a spot where we see him, Mark Fields, and maybe some other defensive back carry it as a group. In addition to his ability to lock down receivers, Trayvon Mullen has superb athleticism and is very physical for the corner back position.
Mullen brings back memories of Justin Miller with his athleticism and physicality. I believe he will come in in the fall and make an impact right away. It will be interesting to see what happens with him in the defensive backfield, but there is a reason he was the nation’s number-two corner back.
