3. Who would you want to build an offense around?

Just talking about pure talent and ability, who would you want to build an offense around? If you had the choice of quarterback Deshaun Watson or running backs Derrick Henry or Christian McCaffrey, who would you choose?

You’d be fooling yourself if you chose Henry or McCaffrey because a running back does not touch the ball on every single offensive play. A running back does not make reads and adjust the offense to what they read on the defense. That is the quarterback’s job.

I think it should favor Watson that he’s a quarterback. Why? Quarterback is the most important position. Watson is in charge of knowing the snap count at all times, reading the defensive coverage, picking up blitzes before the play is run, and making audibles to better favor the offense in addition to several other things not even mentioned.

Derrick Henry and Christian McCaffrey are both really good players, but neither of them have the same effect that Deshaun Watson has on an offense because they are not a quarterback. If you chose Henry first, you’d still need a viable quarterback to be relevant.

If you choose Watson, you are already relevant because in today’s football a good quarterback automatically can cover a multitude of faults.
