9. Home Sweet Home (November 12, 1960)

For number nine on our list, you only have to fast-forward one year. As said before, the game during the Big Thursday era was always played in Columbia. Clemson, the “agricultural school full of dumb farmers” as said by a South Carolina fan, was finally able to host a game in the rivalry.

So, for the first time ever Clemson vs South Carolina was played in Clemson. The Tigers were pumped and the fans were loud from all accounts.

Clemson picked up the victory over South Carolina by a score of 12-2 in a defensive slug fest. The team was led by Coach Frank Howard, who finished the season 6-4 overall.
