Deshaun Watson

This was an easy chance and, I’ll be honest, Clemson football fans should probably get used to seeing that name listed as the “Player of the Game.” Deshaun Watson returned from his knee injury for the first time and proved he was the same player he has been. He was instrumental in orchestrating Clemson’s offense and was capable of putting up 100 on Wofford’s defense.

He spread the ball out evenly and found the open man. He took what the defense gave him and made the right calls throughout the game. He completed 18 out of 22 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers. That means he only had four misses all day long and almost went over 200 yards passing in less than a half of work, overall. I’m not exactly sure how many series he played, but the coaches looked for many opportunities to put Nick Schuessler in the game and Watson did not even play a full half.

That being said, he is our “Player of the Game.” The most amazing thing about Deshaun is that he makes it look so easy. It’s almost like it’s effortless and he is a natural born leader and play maker. He is still getting better and the best is yet to come. I can only imagine what this young man is capable of doing.

So, those are our “Players of the game” for opening week. What’s your thoughts, Clemson fans? Who impressed you the most?
