Ray-Ray McCloud/Deon Cain

All eyes will be on the freshmen this Saturday. Tiger fans want to see the freshman come in and be effective right away. They want to see a guy like Ray-Ray McCloud come into the game and break off a 70-yard touchdown run. I honestly don’t know what to expect out of these freshmen Saturday, but I do know they will be solid contributors this season. What I want to see is good fundamentals and a strong football IQ.

I want them to not be flustered by playing in front of 80,000 fans, but instead focus on the task at hand. If either of these two freshmen score a touchdown, that will just be a bonus. What I want to see is what happens when they get their hands on the ball. Both Deon Cain and Ray-Ray McCloud will play a good amount Saturday and each will touch the ball.

I am interested to see what they do when they have the ball. Also, I would encourage you to watch them run through drills with the wide receivers during warm-ups to see how they look in a drill setting. Both of these guys have plenty of talent and will play a ton of snaps this season so we definitely want to see what they’re capable of doing as a freshman in their season-opener.
